  • The spatial frequency spectrum of a Fresnel diffraction pattern can be expressed in a compact form which is a good starting point for various X-ray phase retrieval methods (Contrast-transfer functions , intensity-transfer equation…). A direct generalization is the concept of “Ambiguity Function”. The partial Talbot effect (periodic objects) and its application to spatial coherence measurements will be discussed.
